Warning: A rel=” canonical” mark is best practised for the republished part of the material. A canonical tag is a piece of code (metadata) with a relation to the original piece. This assists Google in evaluating which website first published a piece of material.

However, Google does not always rank the website that first publishes a piece of content – even though they know who did.
